Smart Living Grand Award Winner – Belun Technology Company Limited
Crowned the Award of the Year
(Hong Kong – April 5, 2018) With the aim to promote innovations in the local information and communications technology (ICT) sectors, the award presentation ceremony for the Hong Kong ICT Awards (HKICTA) 2018 was held successfully last night (April 4) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Belun Technology Company Limited and its unique and innovative entry Belun™ Ring, the Grand Award Winner of the ‘Smart Living Award’ category organized by Hong Kong Information Technology Federation (HKITF), has been selected as the “Award of the Year” amongst all Grand Award winners of the eight award categories. The “Award of the Year” was announced and presented by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR, Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBM, GBS.
Steered by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, the 12th Hong Kong ICT Awards 2018 received more than 1600 entries, competing in eight award categories.
Organized by HKITF, the Smart Living Award aims at recognizing outstanding products and solutions that promote and facilitate a smart mode of enjoyable and convenient living through capitalizing on ICT advancements, as well as to promote excellent use of ICT in the area of fostering smart living and lifestyle in the community. The Smart Living Award is composed of 3 streams, namely ‘Smart Healthcare,’ ‘Smart Home’ and ‘Smart Lifestyle,’ featuring Gold, Silver, Bronze awards and Certificate of Merit.
Triumphed over other Grand Award contenders in the eyes of the Panel of Judges and being crowned the “Award of Year – Hong Kong ICT Awards 2018″ with its winning entry Belun™ Ring, Belun Technology Company Limited also bagged the Gold Award of the Smart Healthcare stream and the Grand Award of Smart Living Award category. Moreover, reaped with the Grand Award in the ICT Startup Award category hosted by the Hong Kong Business Angel Network, Belun™ Ring becomes the real triumphant of this year’s HKICT Awards.
Belun™ Ring is a medical-grade wearable platform utilizing ICT technologies, bio-sensing, signal processing techniques and deep learning algorithm to pre-screen potential obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) sufferers conveniently at home and provides sleep health including mental stress in the relationship with daytime activities. Combining the innovative and patented ring design and optical design, Belun™ Ring is light-weighted, comfortable to be worn continuously and non-intrusively during sleep. With the upload of the accurate and high sensitivity data through network, respiratory disorders during sleep will identify by Belun™’s cloud-based proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) system. All physiological data, analysis, and reports can be viewed by authentic people from clinics, health-check centers, respiratory machine vendors and elderly centers which provide additional insights to physicians.
